NYS DBL RATE CHANGE EFFECTIVE 1/1/2024! STANDARD SECURITY!
NYS PFL UPDATE ALL CARRIERS EFFECTIVE 1/1/2024!

TO ALL MY RETAIL CLIENTS, FOR NYS DBL Standard Security will be lowering the rates for 1 to 49 employee cases effective 1/1/2024. The new rate for males will be $1.30 per month, new rate for females will be $2.80 per month.
FOR NYS PFL, the maximum benefit remains at 67% of employee's average weekly salary, not to exceed 67% of the statewide average weekly wage which is $1,718.15 per week. Duration for a PFL CLAIM remains unchanged at 12 weeks.
The maximum covered wages for contributions from employees have increased to $89,344. All eligible wages, including commissions and bonuses, are subject to premium charge up to this amount.
Rate is .00373, $333.25 maximum employee contribution.

PFL 2023 CHANGES EFFECTIVE 1/1/2023!!
NYS has announced changes:
The NYSAWW IS $1,688.19
MAXIMUM WEEKLY BENEFIT: $1,131.08 (increased $62.72 from 2022)
THE RATE HAS BEEN LOWERED TO: 0.455% OF GROSS WAGES PER PAY PERIOD. MAXIMUM EMPLOYEE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION FOR 2023 IS $399.43, ($24.28 LESS THAN 2022)
EMPLOYEES CONTRIBUTE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR ACTUAL WAGES, up to NYSAWW $1688.19.

FOR EXAMPLE: an employee earning $1,000. per week will pay $4.55 of their gross wages each week. they will receive $670. per wk. up to a maximum total benefit of $8,040.
An employee earning NYSAWW of $1,688.19 will pay a maximum of $399.43 for the year. These employees will receive $1,131.08 per week up to a maximum total benefit of $13,572.96.

for 2023, the list of family members for whom eligible workers can take PFL to care for will include SIBLINGS WITH A SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITION. This includes biological, adopted, step and half siblings. Sibling care effective date goes into effect according to their employer's PFL policy.

Hello and hope all retail customers are rebounding and doing well...
We are heading into the 5th year of PAID FAMILY LEAVE.
HERE ARE THE UPDATES:
AS OF JANUARY 2022, THE BENEFIT AMOUNT REMAINS AT
67% OF MAXIMUM WEEKLY PAYROLL ALLOWED.
THE MAXIMUM WEEKLY PAYROLL ALLOWED WILL BE INCREASED TO $1,068.36 ($82,918. ANNUALLY).
THE BENEFIT DURATION REMAINS AT 12 WEEKS
THE RATE WILL REMAIN AT .00511. Therefore, a person earning that maximum salary will contribute $423.71 annually.
A person earning $50,000. per year, will contribute $255.50 annually.

There is a difference between NYS PFL AND PAID FAMILY LEAVE FOR COVID-19 IN NY.
F.Y.I. If schools close again in the fall, leaving few childcare options, parents cannot claim NYS PFL to stay home with their children.
However, the FAMILIES FIRST ACT for pandemic may entitle employees certain benefits if they are unable to work due to school closures because of an out break or quarantine.
According to Dept. of Labor, covered employees MAY receive:
2 weeks paid sick leave at employee's regular pay rate if they are quarantined of experiencing corona virus symptoms.
2 weeks paid sick leave at 2/3 pay to care for a person who is quarantined or to care for children under 18 whose school or childcare provider is closed due to corona virus.
Up to10 weeks paid expanded family and medical leave in NY at 2/3 employee's regular pay to care for a child whose school or childcare provider has closed due to the pandemic. As an employee, you must have 30 calendar days of employment on record.
The above information is SUBJECT TO CHANGE. PLEASE REFER TO DEPARTMENT OF LABOR IN NY FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.
