This article is reiterating the all too common narrative that women just aren't interested or understand enough to invest. Maybe it's not that at all?
Between unnecessarily complex language, intimidation to justify high fees and advisors that focus on what is important to them vs. what is important to their client first, I'm not sure "lack of time, interest, or understanding" is the main problem with getting more women to invest.
Maybe they haven't found the right advisor that communicates well enough, is straightforward enough and they trust enough to delegate to?
I've worked with over 950 families at this point in my career. Plenty of those families had a female decision maker. Was it the majority? No. But were/are my female clients interested, engaged, knowledgeable and willing to take on risks they understand? Absolutely.
Despite their growing economic clout, many women still aren’t managing their money.
