This is an important read for new home buyers.
In addition, in states, such as Florida, the real estate tax payments you see in listings may be totally unrelated to those you will be responsible for. Much of this problem is due to local MLS' not providing an estimate of what the buyer will be responsible for, but showing what is being paid by the seller. In these states, the new value to be taxed will be based on the price paid by the buyer. This can be a substantial difference.
