2.5 years ago, I got bored renting and selling apartments in Manhattan. I felt the work didn’t make me happy enough so I took 3 months off and met up with friends in different fields to figure out which route I would take.

One friend, offered to open a development business together. We started February 1st 2016. By February 26th we had 2 properties in contract. We knew little about what we we’re doing but trusted we’d learn along the way.

The first property, we legally converted to a 2 family and sold for a nice profit. The second property got caught up in 13 months of litigation with the foreclosed homeowner and we ended up losing around $6k in attorney fees.

This is a rare selfie I took of us on April 20th 2016, when we successfully pulled our first Alt 1 & 2 permits. One day we’ll look back at this picture and laugh because I already am.
