Sometimes retiring early isn’t always the best option! The last thing I want to see is people who have spent 30+ years working towards retirement try to retire TOO early and become “retirement poor” 😭

Retiring 5 years too early can cost you way more than 5 years of work. 😳 If you’re thinking about stopping at 57, read this first - and save it for later.

Permanent retirement is the real leap. Not the “maybe I’ll work part-time for a while” version. The one where you want everything lined up before you jump.

That’s why I told this week’s guest on Barbara Ginty, CFP™, Simone that it might make more sense for her to work 1-3 extra years than rush into a half-ready retirement plan.

A few more years of income can buy:
💸 more security
💸 less stress
💸 way more confidence when you finally leave

If retirement is permanent, the decision should feel permanent too.

Frugal doesn’t mean cheap. It means intentional.
Here are 5 frugal habits that CFP, Barbara Ginty actually swears by. 💸

1️⃣ Focus on long-term savings goals. Precision budgeting + smart investing. Track every dollar and know where it’s going.
2️⃣ Don’t make big purchases too soon. That house, that car, that big ticket item? Make sure you’re actually financially ready.
3️⃣ Pay yourself first. Save before you spend, every single time! Automate it so it’s not a choice you have to make every month.
4️⃣ Build an emergency fund. At minimum 6 months of essential expenses. 12 months if you have dependents. And yes, put it in a high-yield savings account so it actually grows while it sits there. 📈
5️⃣ Save your raise before you spend it
Just got a pay increase? Split it with your future self! Half for today, half for tomorrow.
