*Story time: How I ended up invited to the Presidential Suite at the for the Mixed Doubles Finals*

When I first joined Morgan Stanley in 2019, I came across Kathleen Kunkler through her recognition as a Morgan Stanley MAKER.

I knew she identified with the LGBTQ+ community, so I decided to take a chance - I cold emailed her to say hello and introduce myself as a part of the family.

Kathleen retired shortly after, but we kept in touch. To this day, I can count on her to cheer me on in my career and hype me up on LinkedIn.

She has since transitioned from a successful career as a Financial Advisor to serving on the board of the Women's Sports Foundation.

Key takeaways here:
- Don't be afraid to write that cold email.
- Keep in touch with the people who genuinely want to see you win.
- By putting yourself out there and investing in the right relationships, you never know where you'll end up - sometimes even in the Presidential Suite at the US Open.

Grateful for connections like Kathleen that remind me how powerful community and courage can be.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, I had the unique opportunity to be the featured speaker for Morgan Stanley's U.S. Banks BLEND Network and Diversity & Inclusion Council.

BLEND stands for Black & Latino Employees for Networking & Development

This session explored "Becoming Financially Savvy and Creating Generational Impact".

Laura Fiallos, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (MSPBNA) kicked off the session with dynamic welcoming remarks.

Our fireside chat was moderated by Claribel Herrera-Almonte, Vice President, MSPBNA and BLEND Co-COO. Claribel brought passion, authenticity, and curiosity to our discussion.

Some of the topics we explored:
What are the cultural nuances and differences of how Hispanic-Latinos manage wealth?
How do family dynamics impact our wealth planning?
What does it mean to unlearn some of our cultural biases?
What practical advice would you give our community as they begin to build wealth?
What are common pitfalls to building wealth?
How can Latinos start planning now to prepare their children and future generations to be financially secure?
What steps can we take to ensure our wealth is transferred smoothly to the next generation?

Thank you to the BLEND leaders for bringing this event together. Thank you for sharing your passion for financial empowerment with our Morgan Stanley colleagues.

For those of you following along, you know how passionate I am about sharing information and education around wealth management. Knowledge is power. Money is power. Well-informed financial decisions are imperative to creating your generational wealth. Out of all of the financial presentations I have done this month, this one hit different. Being with my Morgan Stanley familia felt like I was doing a "visita" in my corporate living room. Sharing my experience with my colleagues and community was beyond gratifying.

Thank you to Paty Susana, Vice President, MSPBNA, for reaching out and coordinating this opportunity.

Thank you to BLEND Co-COO Yvette Wynn, Executive Director, MSPBNA, for promoting this event across the firm.

Thank you to Karen Veary, Managing Director, MSPBNA and Michelle Stewart, Managing Director, MSPBNA, as U.S Banks BLEND senior sponsors.

*Everyone Watches Women's Sports*

Over 1.3 million viewers and a sold out crowd of over 18,000 on Sunday night to watch Game 5 of the WNBA Finals.

Watching women sports is even better when you get to watch it with fellow women athletes. I had the privilege of watching the final game in person with my favorite colleagues Ara Talkov and Madi Osias.

After an intense five game series and a nail biting overtime win, saying Barclays was electric would be an understatement.

*Fun Fact* My first ever game was sitting court-side at Madison Square Garden in 2017. I will never forget being ignorantly shocked at the sight of seeing an empty stadium.

As a proud wife of an NCAA basketball referee in the NBA's Referee Development Program, I have had the opportunity to watch this explosive growth of the WNBA closely. I am so fired up for the future of women's basketball and women's sports.

This is what happens when you invest in women's sports.

This is why I continue to invest in and with women.

This month I had the unique opportunity to host a breakfast discussion with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management's Chief Investment Officer, Lisa Shalett.

As the Wealth Management Chief Investment Officer, Lisa is frequently speaking on television and media about her market outlooks. I am a big fan of her thought leadership and always look forward to reading her latest commentary.

In this intimate setting, I was able to ask her questions I am hearing from clients every single day.

Some of the topics explored were:
- What does it mean to have an economic soft landing?
- What do rate cuts mean for retail investors?
- What's going on with the housing market?
- With the upcoming U.S. Presidential Election, how will either administration impact financial markets?
- What's the latest with the AI hype?
- What is the problem with comparing ourselves to the S&P 500 as a benchmark?
- Why does financial planning matter?
- Why does having a financial advisor matter?

I am so grateful to Lisa and her incredible team for investing their time with me. As a next generation financial advisor passionate about serving wealth management clients, having access to the intellectual capital of Morgan Stanley is a privilege. Extending this access and privilege with my clients and community is what drives me.

I invite you to follow Lisa Shalett, you'll love her insights. If you would like to receive Lisa and her team's outlooks in your inbox, please DM me and I can subscribe you to her thought leadership.

As the iconic Caroline Gundeck always says, "It's a great time to be at Morgan Stanley!"

Feeling inspired and fired up for the future of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management after attending the 2024 Morgan Stanley Women's Leadership Summit, where top women financial advisors across the country came together.

I had the opportunity to learn from and connect with women financial advisors. Some women were in the top 100 across the entire industry, some women with forty years of experience in this profession, while others were rising stars.

The best part of my experience was sharing it with my fellow next generation colleagues - Ara Talkov & Pendleton Bogache.

created the opportunity for organic mentorship moments, a time to pause and reflect on our successes and pursuits, and a chance to find inspiration from other trailblazers outside of our industry.

Thank you to Anne Tamayo for advocating for my seat at this conference.

Thank you to the Morgan Stanley team for your visionary thought leadership and ex*****on: Stacie Hoffmeister, Sarah Hartong, Kristen Jarema, Miguel Mendez, Krissy Hallinan, and many more behind the scenes!

It is truly a great time to be at Morgan Stanley and I am fired up for what is to come. I am grateful for the privilege I have of calling myself a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor.

*Pride Post*

I am honored and humbled to be the First Latina Recipient of 's National + Award.

How can you dream of something that doesn't exist?

Growing up as a first-generation Colombian-American in Miami, I was taught to take pride in my , yet conditioned to believe that being gay was not okay. I never imagined that one day, I would be standing on a main stage accepting an award that celebrates the intersection of q***r identity and Latinidad.

Entering Wall Street, the culture shock was intense—few women, almost no Latinos, and even less + representation. I did not want to be out at work. But everything changed when I found my community through and my . It was through this journey that I discovered the power of allyship and the strength that comes from embracing every facet of my identity.

Even then, I struggled with harmonizing my q***rness with my Latinidad. It wasn't until I attended my first ALPFA convention and saw a Pride panel on the main stage that I realized I could be both. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to ALPFA for creating a safe space where q***r Latinos like me can be seen, celebrated, and protected.

Receiving this award is more than just a personal milestone; it's a testament to the courage it takes to live authentically and the progress we've made in making spaces for those at the intersection of these identities.

A moment like this takes a village:

*Thank you to Damian Rivera for opening your platform and power of ALPFA to create a safe space for ALL identities of our community. I am humbled to join the history and legacy of your organization as the first Latina to receive the ALPFA Pride+ Award.

*My Pride Pioneers - Will & Sal - Thank you for your radical vision and for having the audacity to champion this cause. Thank you for co-founding ALPFA Pride+.

*My DEI Partners - Thank you to Kristen Jarema & Krissy Hallinan for nominating me.

*My ALPFAmilia - Thank you to Manuel Ibarra, Fina Perez, Miguel Mendez, Ana Cristina Blandon, Rich Disla, Paola Cabrera, & Noe Herrera for making me feel safe and seen. Thank you to Ileana Musa & Millie Guzman for not only accepting me, but championing me.

*My OPEN Finance Allies - Thank you to my co-chair Matt Toole for always supporting me. Thank you to Jared Spencer for coaching me through this process.

Let's continue to work together to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background or identity, feels seen, celebrated, and safe in all spaces—corporate or otherwise.

*Appreciation Post*

I have the opportunity to work with some incredible people at Morgan Stanley.

This month I made the investment of celebrating the people behind the scenes that help me help my clients. I brought my associates Dan Baez, Alex Bae, and Ronia Dolabany to a summer sunset celebration at the New York Athletic Club's Solarium.

I am fortunate to work with the next generation of leaders in this industry. If you haven't met these Morgan Stanley Rising Stars yet, I invite you to do so.

We are able to help clients strategize their financial futures.

*Alex Bae - is a Digital Virtual Engagement Associate. He focuses on digital marketing for Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors. Alex is creative and dynamic. I know that my time with Dan, Alex, and Ronia will be short. High performers do not stay stagnant. I know they are going to grow and excel into the next chapter of their careers when they are ready. For now, I will continue to appreciate every single moment and all of the ways they go above and beyond to help me help my clients.

*Pride Month 2024 Recap*

This was different for two reasons:
1. I was celebrating my five year anniversary with Morgan Stanley. You can read more about that here: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7212122732530950145/
2. *ALLIES*

For me Pride is all about celebrating the right and privilege I have of being married to my wife, and championing for those in my community that still have rights and privileges to fight for.

Every year, every June, LGBTQ+ leaders bring all of their power, energy, and resources to showcase their organization's commitment to the community. Pride is meant to be a celebration, but for those in the community, it can feel like a marathon. It is a grind to balance your "day job" and your "gay job" or what I call the "Q***r Career".

This year, for the first time ever, I saw allies show up AND step up. Allies created programming for the community ensuring they were amplifying the voices of those in the community. A special thank you to the allies that put in the work this year: Anne Tamayo, Iris Gomez, Ronia Dolabany, Jaime Palmer, and Lisa Cregan.

Here are my Pride Month 2024 Top 10 Moments:
1. Moderated a fireside chat with Jaymes Black, CEO of Family Equality (Newly appointed CEO of the Trevor Project)
2. Celebrated Q***r Black Excellence at the Native Son Awards with Chris Mossiah, TK Nkwe, & Andrea Hayes - Thanks to Jaime Palmer
3. Kicked off NYC Pride Week at The Center Garden Party with my Morgan Stanley Pride peers and OPEN Finance community with Jared Spencer, Matt Toole, Chester White, Adrian Koestli, Lindsay Tobia, and Debjyoti Dey
4. Experienced the launch of Morgan Stanley's Be Pride Mexico Chapter
5. Championed the WNBA at a NY Liberty Suite with HRC Leaders thanks to Lauren Zimmerman
6. Spoke at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management 399 Park Ave's Culture Committee's first ever Pride Celebration thanks to Iris Gomez & Ronia Dolabany
7. Participated in the Inaugural Northeast LGBTQ+ FA Summit thanks to Anne Tamayo's leadership - Inspired by Stephen Dupre
8. Attended a dynamic fireside chat featuring community leaders Kelley Robinson & Dr. Carla Smith moderated by Nathan Stein
9. Attended Morgan Stanley's Pride Brunch celebration thanks to Kyler Robinson's leadership
10. Launch of a video interview with Lisa Cregan where I talk about serving the LGBTQ+ Community - https://players.brightcove.net/644391012001/default_default/index.html?videoId=6354810204112

Cheers to another successful Pride Month.
