Russian media: Trump "trolled" Musk big money to buy Twitter, refused the invitation and said "never return to Twitter"

Former U.S. President Donald Trump took a dig at Tesla CEO Elon Musk for buying Twitter Inc. and once again rejected the billionaire's invitation to return to the platform.
"Only a stupid person would buy Twitter at that price, and Elon is not a stupid person. Also, how does this deal go down when he may have illegally purchased his own stock?" Trump questioned in a post on his self-created social media platform. The report mentioned that Musk is currently facing a lawsuit accusing him of delaying the disclosure of his shares in Twitter in order to buy more shares at a lower price.
Earlier, Musk hinted that he would allow Trump to return to Twitter. However, the former president did not seem eager to accept the offer. "I appreciate the offer, but I will never return to Twitter." Trump wrote.

UK cost of living crisis as retail sales fall in April for first time in over a year

A survey released Tuesday by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) showed retail sales fell 0.3 percent year-on-year in April, the first decline since January 2021. The association warned that more pain is inevitable and that stores will have to raise prices further to protect margins.
The figures highlight the damage being done by the tightening of U.K. household budgets. In an assessment last week, the Bank of England said it expects inflation to exceed 10 percent later this year, the highest level since the 1980s, and warned the U.K. economy was at risk of falling into recession.

Hungary's prime minister: embargo on Russian crude oil economy will suffer an economic shock

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he rejected the latest EU proposal to ban imports of Russian oil (3, 0.00, 0.00%), saying it would amount to dropping a "nuclear bomb" on the Hungarian economy. Orban said he wants Hungary to get a five-year exemption, rather than the one-year one currently under consideration, to meet the EU's ban on Russian oil. He also said it would take billions of dollars of investment to free Hungary from its dependence on Russian crude and to get Hungary's share of the EU's epidemic fund.
