Back when I ran my MSP, I didn't bother with a budget. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻 > 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁 was all I cared about, and it worked. B͟u͟t͟ ͟i͟t͟ ͟w͟a͟s͟n͟'͟t͟ ͟s͟c͟a͟l͟a͟b͟l͟e͟.

Why? Because I didn't have a plan. And when there's no plan, you make mistakes.

It was easy for me to say, "oh this new tool is only $1 more per user, I'll just get that." But here's what I wasn't thinking about:

• That $1/user across 1,000 endpoints is $12,000 a year in pure overhead
• Every new tool needs someone to manage it
• Training time impacts productivity
• Some tools require annual commitments
• Each addition affects cash flow differently based on billing cycles

I was making snap decisions that had long-term implications for my profitability, and I didn't even realize it.

But here's the twist:

After finally implementing Alternative Payments, within just 60 days his outstanding AR dropped to $4,000 - a 95% 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.
