Citizens Bancorporation of New Ulm, Inc, parent company of Citizens Bank Minnesota, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ashley Swenson to the Board of Directors of both companies.
Dr. Ashley Swenson grew up in Nicollet, Minnesota, on her family’s 300-cow dairy farm, Forest-Lawn Holsteins. Today, she and her husband David are the sixth generation to own and operate the family farm.
From a young age, Ashley developed a passion for dairy cattle and veterinary medicine. She pursued this interest by earning her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota. In 2016, she expanded her professional impact with the purchase of Midwest Embryo Transfer Service.
Ashley is highly engaged in her local and professional communities. She currently serves as President of the Minnesota Holstein Association and chairs the Government Liaison Committee for the American Embryo Transfer Association and the Health and Safety Advisory Committee for the International Embryo Technology Society.
Ashley, her husband David, and their son Mason live in Nicollet, Minnesota. Together, they are committed to sustaining their beef and dairy embryo transfer business and their respective family’s dairy operations. Outside of their daily work, they enjoy exhibiting cattle at the Minnesota State Fair and the World Dairy Expo, with the added perk of reconnecting with friends from across the dairy industry.
Swenson joins Dustan Cross, Bryon Christenson, Alan Holm, Mark Denn, Tim Hoscheit, Kyle Marti, Jacob Holm, and John Rieser on the bank’s board. Citizens has offices in New Ulm, Lafayette, La Salle, Lakeville, Watkins, and Ormsby, Minnesota.
