Anyone who knows Karla knows she brings a positive attitude, a willingness to jump in wherever needed, and a remarkable ability to get things done. While many people only notice technology when something isn't working, Karla and our IT team work tirelessly behind the scenes every day to keep our systems secure, our employees connected, and our customers' banking experience running smoothly.

Over the last 25 years, technology has changed dramatically, and Karla has been a trusted part of that journey. Her expertise, dedication, and support have helped our bank grow and adapt while always putting people first.

Learning, SINGO, and plenty of laughs... that's how we do annual Development Day at First State Bank! 🎉

While our offices were closed on Monday, October 12, our team came together for a day of learning, connection, and FUN.

We kicked off the day by getting to know our executive team a little better through fun facts, insights into the future of First State Bank, and an opportunity to ask questions and have great conversations. We also had the pleasure of hearing from Kristin Bock of Body Language Blueprints, who brought plenty of energy and engagement as she shared how body language influences the way we work with teams, communicate with others, and better understand different personality styles.

Of course, it wasn't all business! Team members had the chance to mingle with coworkers from across the organization, participate in activities, play games, and enjoy a little friendly SINGO competition.

Development Day is one of our favorite traditions because it gives us the opportunity to learn, grow, strengthen relationships, and have fun together. We're grateful for the incredible team that makes First State Bank such a great place to work! ❤️🖤

We love our jeans days, but we love the reason behind them even more.

Our latest Jeans for a Cause supported Operation Bootstrap, an all-volunteer organization helping families throughout Portage County during times of need.

From nutritious food and utilities to transportation and emergency medications, their work provides a helping hand when it’s needed most.

While the jeans are definitely a perk, giving back together is what these days are really all about.
