What a great time on the greens!
First State Bank was proud to be a hole sponsor at not just one—but two fantastic local golf outings yesterday! We had team representation at both the Waupaca Chamber Golf Outing and the Portage County Business Council Business on the Green event.
Events like these are a wonderful way to connect with local businesses, support our communities, and enjoy a little friendly competition along the way. We appreciate the opportunity to be involved!

Honoring one of our own, Elliot Johnson is the son of Jenny Johnson and the recipient of our First State Bank Employee/Son/Daughter $1,000 Scholarship. With a desire to share his love of baking and experimenting in the kitchen with his family and friends, Elliot plans to attend Fox Valley Technical College in their culinary arts program, learning about the art and nuisances of baking and pastry. We’re proud to recognize Sawyer Buenning from Waupaca High School as a First State Bank $1,000 scholarship recipient, presented by our Branch Manager, Chris Iwanski, and Relationship Manager, Jenny Johnson!
Sawyer intends to study sports business at Arizona State University after job shadowing with a football agent and gaining insights of how athletes navigate the business side of being a professional athlete. He is the son of Ashley and Dan Buenning.

From New London High School’s Class of 2026, Shaye Allen was selected as a First State Bank $1,000 scholarship recipient this graduation season.

Inspired to positively impact future students and support their educational needs, Shaye plans to attend University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to pursue a major in elementary education. She is the daughter of Shawnee and Raegan Allen. Best wishes as you begin this next chapter!

Treston, son of Kasey and Teasha Kaepernick, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison to study political science and health policy.
