Originally released in 1996 through CoroCoro Comic 223, the Ivy Pikachu was mistakenly credited Ken Sugimori as its illustrator instead of Keiji Kinebuchi. In 1998, a corrected glossy version was released through a limited mail-in lottery with just 2,000 winners.

Only 79 copies have been graded by PSA and CGC combined, with this CGC 10 being one of just three gem mint copies.

While an incorrect glossy Pikachu sold privately for $1.3 million in August, the corrected version has a much more limited public sales history given its rarity.

This copy ends Thursday night in Alt Auctions.
