As you are all aware, the storms that passed through the Houston and Beaumont areas this week were devasting to many of our customers. While we have several local adjusters handling these claims, our Catastrophe Response Team has responded as well. We are working diligently to contact and serve each one of our impacted customers. I always cringe when people say they are doing the Dave Ramsey plan because well Dave Ramsey is right and wrong when it comes to life insurance.

Term is great if you don’t have excess income…or just need to buy life insurance.

There is no more immediately affordable way to purchase life insurance than through a term policy. 

But for a man who is so big on having equity in your assets, I can’t understand why he would be so against having equity in your own life. Which is arguably your greatest asset of all

Cash value life insurance comes with many guarantees

It’s guaranteed to pay the death benefit. It’s guaranteed to accumulate inside the policy often times tax free

It’s guaranteed to allow you access even if the banking system fails.

It’s guaranteed to do a lot of things

The only variable in the whole equation is whether or not you keep your end of a unilateral contract that you own

If you don’t keep your end there’s a good chance the insurance company won’t keep theirs

But if you keep your side then your only worry is what will you do with all that accumulation later on in life if you want to use it

And if you don’t, what will your beneficiaries do with it when you pass it on tax free and probate protected?

Due to the approach of Tropical Storm Nicholas, a moratorium has been issued in all Texas counties.
All binding and coverage changes are unavailable. Coverage change requests on existing policies are suspended and will be processed effective the date the moratorium is lifted. The duration of the moratorium will be dependent upon the duration and impact of the storm, usually ending 72 hours after it passes.

Take steps to protect yourself and your family.

Should you be impacted promptly submit your claim by reporting the loss details by calling 1(800)435-7764.

Protect the property from further damage.

Keep accurate records of all expenses such as temporary repairs and additional living expenses.

Itemize the damaged property including the manufacturer, brand name, age, place of purchase and purchase price.
