I have become extremely passionate about health insurance due to personal experiences I've had to face. My daughter had 4 brain surgeries by the age of 2, I personally have had a cancer diagnosis in my mid 20's, and I saw my late husband though the hardest season of our lives with a heart attack, heart transplant and eventually death. I can attest first hand that your health is not guaranteed, and

life can change in the matter of seconds. All it takes is a phone call, a diagnosis, that one thing that changes the comfort of life as you know it. Insurance won't cure that news, but it will surely help with the financial burden your family will get! Most cases, jobs will cease for a season to care for the loved one. Accidents, poor health, at home caregiving, those things can't be planned.

To say I’m proud of you is an understatement.

You have gone through the loss of a father by age 13, 9 brain surgeries by the age of 16, left and lost many homes and friends, got tore down and rebuilt yourself over and over again. The scars on your head and the scars on your heart can’t contain your essence and your beauty.

I got to see you graduate from high school last night and celebrate you turning 18 years of age today. Zya Boyer, your a RAY of sunshine, forgiving, beautiful, tiny, gentle, God-fearing and so precious. Not because you’re my daughter, but because there’s only one of you and I love that you will never compare to any one else in this world.

I’m so honored God chose ME to be your mother. To be your guide. To be your friend. To be your Uber. To be your bank, lol. I couldn’t do this life without you, thank you for loving me, too. Even when I’m over bearing and make you mad. You’re the easiest person I’ve EVER met, and anyone who knows you would say the same.

Forgive me for making bad choices, for leading you down wrong roads, for not listening, for not seeing YOU at times. And yet we still can stand together, closer than ever, mommy and baby, best friends. You’re an official ADULT, aaagghhh!!! I love you. So so much. Cheers to the next chapter of your life, I can’t wait to see what God does with you!! Just keep holding on.

Finally, my day comes to an end. Here’s what your girl did today. I failed to attend the right location for my Kingwood Business Women luncheon, so I gave myself the treat of Crust Pizza, thank you to Robin Chastain Vieau and her location in the back of Kingwood. So while I dated myself this afternoon, I visited another local sister’s new shop, Apricot Lane, owned by Katie Woodard- in the heart of town center in Kingwood. Wow! What a beautiful place!!!

Because I’m such a winner, I bought my girls dinner at Crust while I was there because my NIA was meeting at Augusta Pines, lead and owned by ANOTHER powerhouse female, Emily Sloyer-Galindo. And you know, I’m not coming home to cook at the end of my day, lol.

I love the women in my community, the support from my networking groups and the relationships we build. I’ve laughed a ton today, are great food today and came home to my great kids today. (And still squeezed in 2 workouts!). Thank you GOD, I’m still standing. 😀

So much fun at The Phoenix Journey 5k yesterday! I was torn between participating or being a vendor, cause you know your girl loves to move!! But I’m so honored to serve my friend, Dominique Cousin either way it falls. Her story and cause are amazing and she is a powerhouse!! Impact Health Sharing coming in strong to get the word out to the public that there ARE other options outside of traditional health insurance. I’ll be back next year!
