In recent years I’ve gotten a lot more private about my personal life, and more focused on business, on social media.
In that time I’ve seen my engagements decrease by 80%-90% and my income increase by 800% - 1000%
A lot of people have wondered why I’ve focused less on personal and more on business.
I mean personal branding is the way to build, right?
There’s no right or wrong, it’s just the season I’m in and what I’m optimizing for.
At the current stage in my business I’m focused more on business growth.
I don’t care about being known as some influencer or everybody following my lifestyle.
There definitely is a good time and place for that, and I think it’s when you’ve built up an incredible base.
Even then, you want to analyze your marketing channels and ratios
Too many people are trying to jump the gun.
Yes, interject your story and things about your life, that’s a big part of relatability and why people will buy from you, but this is in your business strategy.
Your personal brand alone doesn’t make your business.
It’s your offer, and delivery.
Your personal brand accentuates it.
So while people are focused on which picture looks best, or posting pics of their food, and travels,
That’s cute, but your ideal client goes where they see the most tangible value for what they’re looking to solve.
They go to the person who can solve their problem, and get them the result they’re looking for.
Focus on this in your marketing.
This is how I’ve been able to show much less of my personal life, not worry about capturing every moment, and keep all my personal relationships off social media, while still building a 7 figure business.
Yep you’ll see some personal things from me here and there, but 80% - 90% is focused on my audience and helping them get the result they want.
Doing things this way, we’ve been able to churn out a small army of coaches consistently doing 6-7 figures.
You have to decide what you’re optimizing for.
My general suggestion though, if you’re under 7 figures a year, stick to the method I’ve outlined above.
There’s a time and place to make money and impact people, and there’s a time and place to look cool.
