Another great improvement in Downtown New Albany — and just in time for Tallahatchie Riverfest! 👏

The recently completed improvements to the parking area at the Union County Library have made a big difference in one of our downtown’s most-used spaces.

Located alongside the Tanglefoot Trail and within easy walking distance of downtown, this area serves library patrons, trail users, downtown visitors and our community throughout the year. With Tallahatchie Riverfest coming up on September 26, the improvements are especially timely as we get ready to welcome visitors from across the region to New Albany.

We also want to recognize U.S. Lawns, a New Albany Main Street partner, for the landscaping work that helped put the finishing touches on the project. The new landscaping looks great and adds another welcoming touch to this important downtown area.

It’s always exciting to see continued investment in Downtown New Albany, especially as we prepare to showcase our community during one of our biggest weekends of the year!

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Downtown New Albany for Tallahatchie Riverfest — Saturday, September 26!

🇺🇸 Union County Patriot Day Service 🇺🇸

Please join us on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the Magnolia Civic Center Cine Theater for a special Patriot Day Service hosted by The American Legion Potter-Henry-Lowrey Post 72 New Albany, MS

Post 72 Commander Ken Lence will lead the approximately 50-minute service as we come together in remembrance and honor those who serve our community and country.

Special recognition will be given to military personnel, city and county law enforcement, EMT personnel, fire department personnel, educators, and students.

Everyone is invited to attend as we remember, reflect, and honor. 🇺🇸
