Improving your credit score isn’t about looking rich.
It’s about building trust with your money.

The hard part?
Most people don’t realize their small habits are hurting them.

Late payments.
Maxed out credit cards.
Opening accounts just because they can.

At first, it doesn’t feel serious.

But over time?
Those small decisions can make borrowing harder, more expensive, and more stressful.

Here’s what financially smart people focus on:
→ Paying bills on time.
→ Keeping credit utilization low.
→ Checking credit reports for mistakes.
→ Avoiding unnecessary accounts.
→ Building consistency over time.

Because a strong credit score isn’t built overnight.

It’s built through patience.
Through discipline.
Through habits repeated again and again.

And the truth is:
A good credit score does more than improve numbers.

It can help you:
→ Get approved easier.
→ Access better interest rates.
→ Create more financial freedom.
→ Reduce stress in the long run.

So before ignoring your finances, ask yourself:
→ Am I building trust with my money?
→ Are my habits helping my future?
→ What small step can I improve today?

Because every smart financial choice adds up.

And over time?
Those choices can completely change your future. 💙

If you want your child to be comfortable handling money, you’ll need to teach them how to handle money!

This list is by no means comprehensive, but it is what I would consider a good start. While explaining a 401(k) to a 4 year old might not be the most productive, you CAN get the ball rolling on comfort with talking about these concepts.

One of the most common things I hear when talking to people about personal finance is “I never learned this growing up”, and that’s because most people don’t. What makes that even worse is the cyclical nature of it - parents were never taught about money, then they don’t teach their kids about money, etc. In that sense, it’s important to be the one who breaks the cycle.

This doesn’t have to be a huge thing, I truly believe just a few conversations in the developmental stages of life can make a huge difference. I’m no child psychologist, but I certainly wish I had these types of discussions earlier in life!

Education is the best investment you can make, and the easiest place to start that is in the home!

What's up in the night sky this month? 👇🏻

🌕🌸 May 1: Micro Flower Moon
May's Full Moon rises tonight — and being at its farthest from Earth, it appears slightly smaller than usual, but no less stunning against the spring sky!
🌍 Visibility: Worldwide — step outside at moonrise for the warmest, most golden view.

🌠 May 5–6: Eta-Aquariid Meteor Shower
Debris from Halley's Comet lights up the sky! The Eta-Aquariids are one of the year's fastest meteor showers — expect up to 50 meteors per hour at peak!
🌍 Visibility: Best from the Southern Hemisphere; Northern Hemisphere observers will still catch a good show after midnight.

🌙🔴🪐 May 14: Moon, Mars, Saturn Line-up
Three celestial neighbours align in Pisces — the Moon, Mars, and Saturn form a beautiful straight line in the pre-dawn sky. A treat for early risers!
🌍 Visibility: Visible from both hemispheres low on the eastern horizon before sunrise.

🌙♀️ May 19: Moon–Venus Conjunction
A delicate crescent Moon pairs up with blazing Venus in a breathtaking twilight embrace — one of the most photogenic events of the month!
🌍 Visibility: Visible from both hemispheres low in the western sky shortly after sunset.

🌙♃ May 20: Moon–Jupiter Conjunction
The crescent Moon glides close to giant Jupiter in the evening sky — look west after sunset to catch this luminous duo shining together!
🌍 Visibility: Visible from both hemispheres low in the western sky after sunset.

🌕💙 May 31: Micro Blue Moon
A rare Micro Blue Moon closes out May — the second Full Moon of the month and at its farthest from Earth, making it a uniquely special sight!
🌍 Visibility: Worldwide — a perfect way to end the month under a glowing blue-tinged sky.

Being frugal and being cheap are NOT the same thing.

Being frugal is great. No matter how much money you have, you should probably always try to be somewhat frugal. My definition of frugal isn’t pinching pennies, it’s just seeking value for your money. I think if you give up a generally frugal mindset, you just start mindlessly throwing money at all your problems. Even if you have the money to sustain it, it’s not how you live a happy life. Just my perspective.

Being cheap, on the other hand, is a bad quality. It’s off putting to those around you, it leads you to making suboptimal decisions, and it generally makes your life worse in the long run. Price isn’t the only thing you should be looking at. It’s important to switch your mindset to a value driven approach. Try to use your money in the way that gets you the most, not just minimizes money out the door.

These are just some examples that hopefully illustrate my view of what it means to be frugal vs. cheap!
