A deposit that isn’t part of your regular income (a gift, a bonus, a reimbursement, even a garage sale windfall) can prompt a request for documentation. It’s a normal part of the process, not a red flag on you personally. 😅

Keeping a simple paper trail — where it came from, why — usually resolves it quickly. Every lender handles this a little differently, so if you’ve got a deposit you’re unsure about, it’s worth asking your loan officer directly. 🤝🏻
