Hand held cell phone ban is here (today) in Tennessee. The fine may seem minimal to some, but what drivers may not realize is that insurance companies (if they follow what they have done in other states) will raise auto insurance rates on violators in a big way for distracted driving violations - far more than for a simple speeding ticket.

Reports from other states have seen in some cases a 40% increase in overall premiums for one distracted driving violation.
Be prudent.
