Yes, I am trying to retire but I got to take care of my peeps. If you have a BlueCross Blue Shield BlueAdvantage plan, please be aware that the dental network has changed. You may have received a letter from BCBS, like Jerry & I did, that said your dentist is no longer in network. What are you to do? Here are my suggestions:
1) Call your dentist. Ours is working on getting approved for the new network but it may take up to 30 days. If you have work scheduled, try to reschedule until the situation is resolved.
2) If your dentist is not going to contract with the new network and you need a new dentist, look up dentists who are in network by going to bcbst.com. Click on "Find Care." Put in your zip code and use network "Dental M 2026." VERY IMPORTANT. Don't use BlueAdvantage network.
3) If you want to switch your plan so you can stay with your dentist, you may be able to use the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment period. This is a last resort since Medicare Advantage options are not as great as they were a few years ago. Buying a separate dental policy may be easier.
You are welcome. Your retired health insurance agent.
