This was an exciting event to see happening on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
For the last 12 months, one of my main focuses in real estate has been affordable housing, and this is exactly why.
Just this past month, I spent a week in Western Pennsylvania visiting manufacturing facilities, looking at different home designs and working through ways we can create housing that better fits what today’s buyers are actually looking for.
We’re also looking at it from an investor’s perspective. How can we design affordable homes that work well as rentals? How can we lower costs without sacrificing quality? We’ve even been working on a duplex model that could create additional opportunities for investors while adding much-needed affordable rental housing.
You can see the direction things are moving. At the federal, state and local levels, there is increasing attention on finding ways to make housing more attainable, remove barriers and encourage new solutions.
I believe manufactured & modular housing is going to play a major role in that.
There are opportunities here for both sides: people looking for an affordable path to homeownership and investors looking to participate in the affordable housing space.
