📈 Average Return vs. Actual Return: They are NOT the same thing.

Many people hear that the stock market averages around 10% per year and assume that's what they'll earn. But investing doesn't work that way.

Here's a simple example:
Year 1: +50%
Year 2: -50%
The average rate of return is 0% ((50% + -50%) ÷ 2). But if you started with $100,000:
➡️ After Year 1 = $150,000
➡️ After Year 2 = $75,000
Your actual return is -25%, not 0%.

This is called the sequence of returns effect, and it's one of the most important concepts to understand when planning for retirement and long-term wealth.
The order of gains and losses matters. Large losses require even larger gains just to get back to where you started.

For example: 📉 A 50% loss requires a 100% gain just to break even.
