HEADS UP GEEZERS!!!

If you were born before Jan 2, 1959, you can use 1040-SR to file your 2023 taxes. The main benefit in doing so is an INCREASED STANDARD DEDUCTION! All other features of the return appear to be the same as for the regular 1040, and any necessary schedules can be used as well.

Since Karen and I are both eligible by birthdate and file jointly, our standard deduction is $30,700 instead of $27,700.

It’s kind of funny how some people who request information about life insurance act as if I have a Star Trek type tractor beam that will capture them if they ever answer the phone. I’m not about to force anyone into anything….as if that were even possible 🤓
