10/10/2025
Best Life Portugal would like to inform you that starting from 12 October 2025, the Entry/Exit System (EES) will be implemented at European border crossing points.
The Entry/Exit System (EES) will apply when both arriving into and departing from the Schengen Area. The EES is an automated system designed to register third-country nationals traveling for short stays (maximum 90 days within any 180-day period). Upon crossing the border, travellers will be required to:
Present their travel documento⁸
Complete a one-time biometric registration (including four fingerprints and a facial image)
Please note that EU nationals, EU residents, and EU long-stay visa holders are exempted from the registration in this system.
The registration process may take additional time at passport control.
We strongly recommend arriving at the airport well in advance to ensure sufficient time for check-in, security checks, and border control procedures. Failure to do so may result in missing your flight.
