destroys community in the same transaction, that solves one problem — crumbling buildings on valuable land — by creating several others that are harder to see from the amenity deck.

The developers will keep buying. The holdouts will keep holding, until they can’t. The buildings will keep coming down. And somewhere in the rubble of each one, if you look carefully, you will find the shuffleboard court — still chalked, slightly faded — waiting for a game that no one ever finished.
