Our parade will kick off on May 25 at 10:45 AM from Ira Jones Middle School to Settlers Park, with the ceremony starting at 11 AM.

Afterward, enjoy delicious food provided by the Knights of Columbus back at the Legion. 🍔Let’s come together in gratitude and community.

Severe weather with the possibility of tornadoes is in our area. Make a plan to find shelter in an interior portion of your home or a basement if you have one. If weather hasn’t reached your home yet try to make sure your outdoor furniture is secured.

We stepped outside our Plainfield office and noticed it’s getting quite cold.

Given the coming cold it’s a good idea to replace your furnace air filter if you haven’t done so recently so it can run efficiently. For those with high efficiency systems, check to make sure the air intake and exhaust doesn’t have snow or leaves blocking the airflow.

Also if you’re going to be away from home for more than a couple days it’s a good idea to shut off the main water supply before you go. This will help minimize the chances of large water damage should the pipes freeze. Always keep your home above 55 degrees, and if you use a space heater, make sure it has plenty of space so as not to cause a fire.

A quick burst of wind driven snow will move across northern IL and northwest Indiana this morning. The most intense snowfall is expected to be in the heart of the Chicago metro then moving into northwest Indiana and the I-57 corridor across far eastern IL. A quick coating to locally an inch of snow is expected to result in quickly deteriorating travel conditions.
