730am Severe Weather Update:
- After morning convection, we will dry out and destabilize this afternoon, and that will allow the atmosphere to prime itself for more thunderstorms this evening. New storms will begin to develop after 3-4pm and will continue through 10pm. A few short-lived tornadoes and damaging wind gusts of 60-70 mph cannot be ruled out across northern Illinois from 4pm to 10pm this evening. Shear today is not particularly impressive, so if a tornado does form, it should not be strong or last too long. Could be some large hail as well with the strongest cells. Flash flooding is also a concern too!
