The SC Safe Home Grant program is now open for applications. If you live in a coastal county, you can qualify for grant $$ to assist with updates to your home to include roof, windows, storm shutters, etc.
You don't have to be right on the beach to qualify. Applications are only open for a limited time and this is a completely legit program run by the state. I personally have used it with great success. Check it out!!

Open enrollment has been tough this year with all the changes. Everyone needs to review and update plan selections. If you solely rely on the auto renewal you are going to be surprised at the renewal rates.

-Starting in 2026, there is no cap on payback for under-reporting your taxable income level for subsidy.
-pandemic assistance has expired which adjusted income brackets per taxable household size and reduced subsidies due to the additional pandemic monies being removed.
-note that if you have a high deductible/high max out of pocket, we can also help with a hospital indemnity plan to help offset
-if your plan is HSA eligible, look into this as it is a good tool to build a side account for high deductibles and extra $$ towards retirement tax free

SC has specific laws regarding golf carts:
-drivers must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid driver's license
-golf carts may only be operated during daylight hours and within 4 miles of the driver's residence or place of business.
-the carts must be registered with the DMV and insured if driven on public roads.
