“We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union…”
This sentence not only changed the course of history but inspires me. Our founding fathers quickly established what it was they were trying to accomplish.
“…establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty for ourselves and our Posterity…”
Not only did they establish a vision for the country they wanted to create, but proceeded to outline rules, guidelines, and processes to accomplish that vision. We are struck in particular by the line “secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity”. It leads us to an important question:
What are you doing to secure your family’s hard-won financial blessings for your posterity?
Do you have a document establishing your vision, intentions, and rules?
In short, do you have a family constitution?
We recommend creating a document, one that you review regularly, with an outline of what your family wants to accomplish. What is your “We the People…” statement that drives you? Once you have that driving mission, how will you accomplish it? What are the roles of each family member? How will funds be used in the accomplishing of the vision? These are all important questions to ask as you create your family-defining constitution.
Don’t know where to start? We have helped families establish theirs and we can help you with yours, give us a call or send a message and we can get started. Together, let’s help your family “..form a more perfect Union…” in a similar way as our Founding Fathers did for us
