⏰ This AEP, the enrollment timestamp could matter more than ever!

Beginning with 2027 Medicare Advantage plans, insurance companies may establish a CMS-approved enrollment capacity limit for certain plans.

What does that mean?

If a plan has an approved limit, completed applications will be accepted in the order they are received. Once that plan reaches capacity, it can close to new enrollments—even if the Annual Enrollment Period has not ended.

The date and time your completed enrollment application is received could determine whether you secure a spot.

A few important reminders:

✅ Not every Medicare Advantage plan will have an enrollment cap.
✅ Current members are not automatically removed because a plan reaches capacity.
✅ You should never select a plan based on speed alone. Your doctors, prescriptions, pharmacies, benefits and costs still need to be carefully reviewed.
✅ We can compare 2027 plan information beginning October 1, but AEP applications cannot be submitted before October 15.

This is why I am encouraging my clients to complete their annual plan reviews early. Waiting until the final weeks of AEP could mean that a plan you qualify for and prefer is no longer accepting new enrollments.

📅 AEP runs October 15 through December 7.

If you would like help reviewing your 2027 options, please get on my calendar early!

🌴 Myrtle Beach — we’re gearing up for Medicare Open Enrollment!

October 15th will be here before we know it, and my calendar is already starting to fill up! 📅

If you’re currently on a Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plan, Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review what’s changing for 2027 and make sure your coverage still fits your needs.

Plans can change from year to year — including:

✨ Monthly premiums & copays
✨ Prescription drug coverage
✨ Doctor & hospital networks
✨ Dental & vision benefits
✨ Extra benefits and allowances

You don’t have to sort through all of those changes alone. I’m local, independent, and here in Myrtle Beach to help you compare your options and make sense of it all.

Today, a client in The Market Common asked me a GREAT Medicare question:

💬 “If Plan G coverage is the same, why would I pay more for one company over another?”

And that’s exactly the right question to ask!

✨ Medicare Supplement Plan G is standardized.

That means the core Medicare benefits are the same regardless of the insurance company offering the Plan G.

So what’s actually different?

📝 Monthly premium
📝 Insurance company & rate history
📝 Underwriting guidelines
📝 Household discounts
📝 Additional non-Medicare perks

A more expensive Plan G doesn’t mean better medical coverage.

That’s why I compare several reputable carriers for my clients — so you can see the differences and decide what makes the most sense for YOU.

📅 MEDICARE AEP PREP: BEFORE OCTOBER 15, GATHER THESE 4 THINGS!

Medicare Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7 — and a little preparation can make your annual plan review much easier.

Before it’s time to review your coverage, have these 4 things ready:

💊 1. Your Current Medication List
Include the exact medication name, dosage and how often you take it. Prescription coverage and costs can change from year to year.

👩‍⚕️ 2. Your Doctors & Specialists
Make a list of the providers you want to continue seeing so their participation can be checked when comparing plans.

💊 3. Your Preferred Pharmacy
Where you fill your prescriptions can make a difference in what you pay.

🪪 4. Your Current Medicare Plan Information
Have your current insurance card handy so we know exactly what coverage you’re starting with.

Already happy with your plan? It’s still worth reviewing. Premiums, copays, prescription coverage, provider networks and benefits can change for the new year.

📌 SAVE THIS POST so you’re ready when October 15 arrives!

I’m already collecting information from Medicare members who would like their coverage reviewed this Open Enrollment.

When comparing Medicare Supplement—or Medigap—plans, it’s important to understand how the company calculates your premium.

An ✨attained-age-rated✨ plan is based on your current age. Your premium can increase as you get older, in addition to any companywide rate increases.

A ✨community-rated✨ plan does not increase simply because you had another birthday. However, the company can still raise rates for the entire group because of rising healthcare costs and claims.

Neither option guarantees that your rate will never increase—which is why reviewing your coverage and premium is so important!

✅ Already have a Medicare Supplement? Send me a message with your current plan and premium to see whether you may qualify for a lower rate. Medical underwriting may apply.

🎂 Turning 65? I can help you compare your options and choose the most cost-effective Plan G based on both today’s premium and its long-term value.

As an independent agent, I compare multiple carriers at no cost to you.

✏️🍎 Back to school!

First day of 3rd grade and Kindergarten for my boys! 💙 Hard to believe summer is already over and we’re officially back into the school-year routine.

They’re excited for a new year… and Mom might be equally excited for some uninterrupted working hours again. 😂🙌

Wishing all the kiddos (and parents!) a great first day and an even better school year!

One of my longtime clients is making a big move to Arizona this September… and I couldn’t just leave her! 🌵🤎

So, I did what any good insurance agent would do—I got licensed in Arizona! 🎉

Now, even though she’ll be across the country, I can continue helping her with her Medicare coverage year after year, just like I always have.

This is one of my favorite parts of what I do. My clients aren’t just a one-time enrollment to me. I want to be your resource as life changes, Medicare changes, and even when your ZIP code changes. 🤍

Did you know? 💡

You don’t have to call the 1-800 number every time you have a Medicare question.

One of the biggest benefits of working with a local, independent Medicare agent is having someone you can actually call when something doesn’t make sense.

Throughout the year, I regularly help my clients:

🔍 Understand confusing Medicare letters
💲 Review unexpected medical bills or claims
🧑‍⚕️ Check if a doctor or prescription is covered
🧭 Navigate plan changes
👩🏼‍💻 Answer the “Is this normal?” questions that pop up

I get calls like these all the time—and I’m always happy to help. That’s exactly why I’m here. 👋🏻

Working with an independent agent doesn’t cost you anything extra, but having someone in your corner can save you a lot of time, stress, and confusion.

👩🏼‍💻📱If you’re looking for a local Medicare resource—not just during enrollment, but all year long—I’d love to help.
