Our School Supply Drive is still underway, and we're so grateful for the support we've received from our members and community!

If you're planning a trip to the store, consider picking up a few extra school supplies to donate. Every notebook, folder, backpack, and box of crayons helps local students at Bunker Elementary start the school year prepared to learn.

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one donation at a time. 💙

Compound interest is often called one of the most powerful tools in saving because your money doesn't just earn interest, it earns interest on the interest you've already earned.

The key? Time.

Whether you're saving for a first car, a home, retirement, or another financial goal, starting early and contributing consistently can make a meaningful difference over time.

Every savings journey starts with a first deposit, and even small amounts can grow with patience and consistency.

Bob and his wife of 61 years, Christine, enjoy spending time with their four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who keep them happily busy.

Meet Board Member, Joe Abdelkader💙

Joe is a lifelong Muskegon resident who grew up in the Lakeside community. He joined Lakeshore Federal Credit Union in 2025 and was excited for the opportunity to serve on the Board and contribute to an organization committed to growing and thriving.

Joe is a graduate of Muskegon High School and Michigan State University, with additional studies at Muskegon Community College. He spent 35 years as an educator with Reeths-Puffer School District, where he dedicated his career to serving students and families in the community.

Joe’s connection to the credit union is also personal, as he serves alongside his brother, Board President Faisel Abdelkader. He values the opportunity to be part of an organization focused on helping members and strengthening the community he has called home throughout his life.

Joe and his wife, Sheryl, are proud parents of their son, Justin, and daughter, Jamie. Family is at the heart of Joe’s life, and hockey has been a major part of their family’s story for more than 35 years. His son Justin represented the area through Michigan State University and the Detroit Red Wings organization.

Today, Joe and Sheryl enjoy following their four grandsons as they play hockey throughout the state.

We are proud to have Joe serving on the Lakeshore Federal Credit Union Board and appreciate the experience, community connection, and dedication he brings to our team!
