PRESS RELEASE

Murrieta Fire & Rescue (MFR) is celebrating three major achievements that strengthen community safety, wildfire preparedness, and emergency response capabilities throughout the city.

The department has earned an Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification of ISO Class-2, improving from its previous ISO Class-3 rating. The city has also renewed its designation as a Fire Risk Reduction Community through the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection, and the Bear Creek community has been recognized as Murrieta's second Firewise USA® community, joining The Knolls in earning this national recognition.

The upgraded ISO-2 rating reflects Murrieta Fire & Rescue’s continued investment in firefighter training, emergency communications, response capabilities, water infrastructure, and community risk reduction programs. ISO ratings are used by many insurance providers as one of several factors used to evaluate a community's fire protection capabilities and may positively influence property insurance premiums for some residential and commercial property owners.

Only a small percentage of fire departments nationwide earn an ISO Public Protection Classification of 2 or better, making this achievement a significant recognition of Murrieta's commitment to delivering exceptional fire protection and emergency services.

The Koth Family took our team and spouses out for a delicious Christmas dinner to celebrate the holiday season. Everyone had such a wonderful time at one of our favorite restaurants, The Gambling Cowboy.
