Good news for your credit! Beginning July 1, 2022, the way medical debt is reported on your credit report is changing. Check out the linked Forbes article, also with tips for dealing with medical bills before they go to collections.

Some highlights from the linked article regarding the 3 main credit bureaus:

- Paid medical debt will no longer report on your credit.
- The time is increasing to 1-year before medical debt collections show on your credit.
- If negotiating/paying a medical debt, you're provided more time to find a payment solution to satisfy all parties.
- Beginning first half of 2023, medical debt collections under $500 will not report on credit.
