This client almost paid thousands more for their mortgage because of a credit score.
Most people think there's only one credit score. There isn't anymore.
We recently worked with a client whose FICO mortgage scores came in too low for the best conventional loan options.
But thankfully, we are partnered with the only lender in the country that uses the newer Vantage Score model.
That score was significantly higher, which allowed them to qualify for a better loan program and avoid additional rate costs.
If one lender tells you no, or gives you a higher rate than expected, don't assume that's your only option. Different lenders use different tools and programs.
