Acts of kindness and compassion will always make my day. I’ve been a huge fan of Table Rock Mobile Medicine for years, and it’s no surprise they went above and beyond to make sure their patients were safe in this heat and have such kind friends to call. Kudos to Capital City Heating & Cooling for saving the day!!

During a house call today a patient's home was 95° INSIDE! This can be dangerous to your health. Brad knew the owners of Capital City Heating & Cooling and Michael had a technician there within 20 minutes. The patient was not charged for the cost of the AC repair! Capital City is one of the good ones!

For my clients who have applied through Your Health Idaho, I want to thank you for your patience as thousands of Idahoans still wait for their applications to be processed. Like many other companies, they are experiencing staffing challenges and a workload like no other.

However, access to healthcare during a pandemic is not to be taken lightly and should be the primary concern of all our elected officials. Our agency has reached out to the Board of Directors of YHI and state legislature and requested an immediate resolution to the backlog of applications and requested personnel and financial support to the hardworking team at YHI. There are too many people in need, and not enough support for this state entity.

My clients will always be a top priority, and to know I have people I care about delaying healthcare because of this administrative challenge is heartbreaking. I’m hopeful that bringing awareness and attention to this will also bring change.

Everyone is fair game for scammers, but our senior population is the most at risk. If you’ll be spending time with your loved ones this week, it’s a great opportunity to check in and remind them not to give any personal information to callers, emails, or social media messages. Social Security Administration is not going to call them and say they’re going to jail, and Center for Medicare Services won’t call and demand their bank information. That nice guy messaging your grandma on Facebook isn’t a real prince with a million dollars to wire into her bank account, either. Intimidation, flattery and confusion are common tactics, and it’s easy to fall prey to when you’ve been isolated during a pandemic.

Remind your loved ones to be careful and protect their personal info, and hug your loved ones tight if you get the chance to this week.
