For the month of June, SDC funded 2 loans totaling $836,000 in SBA dollars for a Therapy & Counseling Office and an Industrial Washer & Oven Manufacturer.

Thank you to the small businesses and the banking partners who make these projects possible. These projects together totaled $2.2 Million and were located in Athens, AL and Jemison, AL respectively.

Today, we honor and celebrate Juneteenth — a day recognizing freedom, resilience, and the continued pursuit of equality and opportunity for all.

At Southern Development Council, we reflect on the importance of empowering communities and supporting small businesses that help create lasting economic growth and opportunity.

Earlier this week, SDC was honored to participate in the SBA Alabama District Office's Lender Roundtable event that welcomed SBA Deputy Administrator, Bill Briggs, and SBA Deputy Southeast Regional Administrator, John Rich during their visit to Alabama.

Deputy Administrator Briggs as well as SBA District Director of the AL and TN district offices, David Glasgow, provided valuable updates on SBA lending programs while the lenders of the roundtable had the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and engage in meaningful discussions to better the SBA programs that expand access to capital to small businesses.

Thank you, Deputy Administrator Briggs, Deputy Southeast Regional Administrator Rich, and AL/TN District Director Glasgow for your time this week, the SBA Alabama District Office for hosting this roundtable, and to the other lenders and resources partners for your continued dedication to strengthening Alabama's small business community along with us.
