In the state of Alabama, SDC is ranked #1 in both dollar amount approved and # of loans approved through the end of FY2026 Q4.

At 23 loans approved totaling $29.7 million SBA dollars, SDC continues to provide excellent service to our clients and banking partners through the SBA 504 Loan Program resulting in a total of $88.8 million in total projects approved in the state of Alabama through FY 2026.

Southern Development Council, Inc. finished FY 2026 with 24 Loan Approvals totaling $34.1 million in SBA dollars within Alabama and Mississippi. These figures are just a part of the $99.3 million in total projects approved during this Fiscal Year.

SDC was well represented at the recent SBA Lender Match event held at Innovation Depot on September 28, 2026. BDOs, Sarah Chambliss and Beau Strong, had the opportunity to meet with small business owners, discuss their financing needs, and provide education on the SBA 504 Loan Program.

It was a rewarding event filled with meaningful conversations, opportunities to support small businesses, networking with outstanding banking partners, and collaboration with the SBA Alabama District Office.

A special highlight of the event was Sarah Chambliss receiving an SBA Billion Dollar Coin from Roderick Perkins, which recognizes Leadership, Service, and Excellence, and honors SDC’s contribution to more than $1 billion in SBA financing throughout the state of Alabama.

Congratulations to Sarah on joining the Billion Dollar Club! We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the opportunity to serve Alabama’s small business community alongside our lending partners and the SBA.
