Allstate Insurance Mount Vernon Don Schlagel Insurance Agency, Inc. specializes in auto and home insurance in Mount Vernon and the surrounding areas.

"I’ve been a Washington Allstate agent since 1988 and I’m proud to call Washington my home. When I think about this community, I think about the many families we serve. Although we are different, we face the same risks while living in the great state of Washington. As a local small business owner, I know the importance of building a solid foundation for the future. I’m proud to represent a company who’s been serving customers since 1931. I can assist with quality insurance that’s affordable and provide easy access for you to contact me in person, over the phone, or through my Website - wherever and whenever you need. Both Allstate and I know how important price and service are for the customers. We are family, and I’d like the opportunity for you to join ours at DeVries Schlagel Insurance. Here, we treat everyone like one of our family members, with the highest level of compassion and respect. I look forward to helping families like yours protect the things that matter most – your family, home, car, and much more."

They doubted the vision. But you know home improvements are expensive.

The upgrades that don’t usually make the feeds are the ones that keep your family safe and comfortable. 🤲

Soccer taught me that life is about finding opportunities in chaos and trusting your instincts when things change around you. When I started my agency, I found a team, a purpose, and a role that truly fits me.

Grateful to have been kicking it with you all these years. ⚽

I love that Allstate doesn’t stop having your back with cars and homes. They’ve found ways to help protect the small, everyday things we use and rely on, like:

📺 Televisions
📱 Smartphones
🧺 Appliances
🛋️ Furniture

Caring for customers means caring about the details, and I’m proud to be part of a company that does it all, both big and small. 💙

Everyone loves passenger pups! 🐶 If you’re traveling with your pet this summer, here are a few hacks to make sure the ride is far from ruff:

🚗 Restrain pets in the back seat where airbags are not a risk.
🌬️ Crack two opposite windows slightly to help prevent motion sickness.
🍽️ Feed lightly or skip meals before long drives to reduce nausea and accidents.
🧺 Bring an item that smells like home to help keep pets calm during travel.
🚘 Take short practice drives before long trips to reduce anxiety.
🐾 Clip a leash on before opening the car door to prevent them from bolting.

A little prep can make every mile easier for everybody. Share this with a fellow pet parent hitting the road soon!

A motorcycle roared past while I drank my coffee in peace and quiet this morning. 😅☕ It's so funny that we all have our own little ‘pick‑me‑ups’ to get the day started.

For some, it’s a warm cup of coffee.
For others, it’s the throttle twist and the roar of an engine!

If you or a motorcycle rider you know wants affordable motorcycle insurance, give my agency a call at (360) 659-2436

Some risks pay off, like stepping outside your comfort zone or starting a new business. Others come with big consequences and very little upside

That’s why Dad taught me, “don’t gamble on the important stuff”.

Insurance fits perfectly in that category. It’s not about avoiding every risk in life. It’s about making sure the risks you take don’t undo everything you’ve worked for.

A little extra protection today can save you time, money, and peace of mind when it matters most.

Turns out, Dad was right. 💙

This is what community looks like. We're proud of the Allstaters in Dallas-Fort Worth for showing up in a major way for Genesis Women's Shelter & Support. They packed hundreds of toiletry bags and hosted a food drive to help support women in need on their healing journey.

Our employees' passions become ours. This is why each Allstate employee gets PTO to volunteer their time to causes they care about.
