RMA just announced deferral of interest charges due to the challenges farmers and ranchers are facing in many parts of the country. Interest accrual on premium payments and administrative fees will be waived to the earliest of an additional 60 days of the scheduled payment due date or the termination date on policies with premium billing dates between July 1, 2026, and September 30, 2026.

🌾 2026 wheat harvest prices have been set at $6.52 🌾. It jumped up .76 from last September to this July where it started at $5.76.

If you had a yield loss on your 2026 wheat production that triggered a claim, you will be paid at the higher price of $6.52.

Today is the final plant date in our area for regular soybeans. For double crop beans (stubble beans), the final plant date is 7/5.

If any of our producers are done planting, please contact us as soon as possible so we can get your acreage report filled out and signed! The deadline for us to do that is 7/15. Please make sure and certify your acres at the FSA office asap as well. 🌱

As we are in the season for storms, I thought it was a good time for a reminder. Most policies state that you (the insured) should notify your agent within 72 hours of discovery of crop damage. As a practical matter, you should always contact your agent immediately when you discover crop damage. Don’t wait!
