As we’ve quickly learned over the last two days fire season is upon us. This is an important reminder that now is the time to get prepared.

✅ Sign up for emergency alerts through ReadySiskiyou at: https://www.readysiskiyou.gov

These alerts are sent to residents in areas where there is an immediate threat or evacuation warning. If you did not receive an alert, it likely means your area was not under a warning at that time.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with your neighbors, friends, and family. Staying informed saves lives.

🔥 Fire Season Is Here – Are You Ready?�Reposted from Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services– thank you for this important reminder!

Here’s your Wildfire ‘Go Bag’ Checklist – because preparation saves lives:

✅ 3-day supply of non-perishable food & 3 gallons of water per person�✅ Map with at least two evacuation routes�✅ Prescriptions & essential medications�✅ Change of clothes, extra eyeglasses/contact lenses�✅ Extra car keys, credit cards, cash/traveler’s checks�✅ First aid kit & sanitation supplies�✅ Flashlight & battery-powered radio with extra batteries�✅ Copies of important documents (ID, passports, insurance info)�✅ Pet food & water

👉 Keep sturdy shoes and a flashlight near your bed for quick nighttime evacuations.
If time allows, grab:
�✔️ Valuables that are easy to carry�✔️ Irreplaceable keepsakes & family photos�✔️ Personal computer data (USBs, hard drives)�✔️ Chargers for phones and laptops
