There is just no good news right now in the Property Insurance marketplace. This article is on the front-page of today's Wall Street Journal. The best I can advise for the time being is to try to stay calm and navigate through this one policy as a time. Agents are doing the best they can (at least this one is) in the worst insurance environment in at least the last 15 years.

Huge losses from national disasters have prompted the industry to jack up prices and pull back from some markets.

Even states with consumer friendly laws, and tough powers to veto increases, are allowing rates to rise.

This is a great read on what is going on with the rapid rise in Home Insurance premiums. This continues to be the most challenging market I have experienced in my 14 years in the business.

Insurance carriers are continuing to push rate increases as they face increased challenges. Following multiple years of above average loss experience driven by severe storms, intense wildfires, and increased litigation, insurer losses remain at high levels.
