A few years ago, I watched someone face a situation they never expected.

They worked hard.
They showed up every day.
They did everything they were supposed to do.
Then one unexpected illness changed everything.
The hardest part wasn’t the hospital visit—it was wondering how the mortgage would get paid, how groceries would be bought, and how the lights would stay on while the paycheck had stopped.
That conversation has stayed with me.
We spend so much time protecting our homes, our cars, and even our phones… but what about the income that pays for all of them?
