New equipment won't get you more money when you sell — but old, dirty equipment will get you less. Hunt compares it to selling a used car: you don't put new brakes and shocks on it, but you absolutely clean it out, get rid of the clutter, and make sure the lighting is good in the photos. Sweat equity and elbow grease go a lot further than spending money on upgrades right before a sale.
