One of Vermont's best small-town traditions is almost here.

Union Bank is excited to support the Elmore 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 5, and we can't wait to see runners, walkers, families, neighbors, and visitors come together in one of the most beautiful corners of the state.

This isn't one of those races where you rush in, run, and head home.

The course loops past Lake Elmore, the beach, historic village landmarks, quiet dirt roads, and postcard-worthy mountain views. It's the kind of event that reminds you why Vermont is Vermont.

Race Day Details
📅 Saturday, September 5, 2026
📍 Elmore Fire Station, Beach Road, Elmore, VT
👟 Kids Dash: 8:30 AM
🏃 5K Run/Walk Start: 9:00 AM

And when the finish line is behind you? The fun keeps going.

Participants can enjoy local raffles and prizes, spend the day at Lake Elmore and Elmore State Park, stop by the Elmore Store's end-of-season block party, and cap the evening with fireworks over the lake. That's not a race day. That's a Vermont Saturday done right.

See you in Elmore.

🍂 September in Vermont.

Our September Community Calendar photo takes us to Charlotte, Vermont, where photographer Kenneth Rachlis captured one of the state's most recognizable views: Camel's Hump rising above a working Vermont dairy farm, surrounded by the brilliant colors of autumn.

Scenes like this are part of what makes Vermont special. The combination of rolling farmland, changing leaves, and mountain vistas reflects a landscape that has shaped generations of communities, families, and local traditions.

Thank you, Kenneth, for sharing your talent and for capturing a moment that beautifully reflects the character, beauty, and agricultural heritage of our region.

CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS! Our 2027 Union Bank Community Calendar Photo Contest is coming to a close, and we're still accepting submissions. We're specifically looking for photos featuring pets and natural wildlife from across Vermont and New Hampshire. If you've captured a special moment, we'd love to see it.

Things Are Starting to Take Shape in Stowe!

If you've driven by our future Stowe branch recently, you've probably noticed something exciting: the steel is up, the first-floor walls are going in, and day by day the vision is becoming reality.

Construction projects can feel like a lot of dirt, equipment, and imagination for a while. Then suddenly, walls start rising, spaces become recognizable, and you can begin to picture what the finished building will look like.

We're thrilled to see the progress and grateful to everyone helping bring this project to life. While there's still plenty of work ahead, it's exciting to watch the future of Union Bank in Stowe take shape right before our eyes.

We'll continue sharing updates as construction progresses. Stay tuned... there's much more to come!

Tomorrow begins one of Vermont's most cherished annual debates:

Do you go to the fair for the animals, the rides, the exhibits, the live entertainment... or the food?

(We all know the answer is "yes." 😄)

The Caledonia County Fair kicks off tomorrow in Lyndonville and runs through August 30, bringing five days of community, agriculture, entertainment, and summertime tradition to the Northeast Kingdom.

It's the kind of event where you'll run into friends you haven't seen in months, leave with stories to tell, and somehow find room for one more fair-food snack.

Have fun, make memories, and support a tradition that's been bringing our communities together for generations.

See you at the fair!
