Before students head back into their school routines, our team wants to help families across Morristown stay safe no matter how kids are getting to class.
Walking to school? Encourage students to use sidewalks, cross at marked crosswalks, and make eye contact with drivers before stepping into the street. Walking with a group is always safer.
Riding a bike? A well‑fitted helmet is essential. Kids should ride with traffic, stop fully before crossing, and choose routes with lighter traffic when possible.
Taking the bus? Remind students to stay several feet back from the curb, wait for the bus to stop completely, and only cross when they can see the driver and the driver can see them.
Getting dropped off? Follow your school’s drop‑off procedures, slow down in school zones, and never pass a bus that’s loading or unloading.
Teen drivers? Review the basics together — seatbelts for every passenger, phones put away, and speed limits followed.
