We had a picnic under this persimmon tree with a lovely woman and her four children.

Sacred land is a place where we are overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and magnificence of nature surrounding us.

More definitions of sacred land are:

Places that communities have decided will be holy to them, and where they have sited their local church, chapel, synagogue, mosque or temple. Whenever a site is chosen, marked out, blessed and made special, it becomes through choice and use, a holy place. It is a place that over time becomes redolent with prayer, with celebration, with mourning and with the cycle of the religious year. We create sacred places for our everyday lives, which become sacred through our intentions.

Places where we are overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and magnificence of nature that surrounds us. It is that moment when we are both caught up in being part of something so much greater and grander than ourselves, but thinking of these places as “sacred” is also about a sense of gratitude to whatever or whoever we understand to be the Origin of all this beauty – what many people call God.

Places made holy by what happened there according to history or legend – the life of a great saint, for example, or the site of some terrible event such as a persecution

Places that are meaningful to you as an individual. They might be places where you go to think; they might have special meaning because of something you or your friends and family experienced there, or perhaps because there you made a decision which has shaped your life ever since. We each have our own sacred land map, even if we have never quite called it that.

I took this picture almost one year ago to the week on the day that we first toured our farmland. Having water is such a blessing as it brings and provides many benefits. The pond is a home for frogs and fish and provides a water source for ducks, foxes, and deer. It cleans and moistens the air, can be a backup water source for household use, and is a refreshing swimming hole!

You can have a pond on your land by finding land with an existing pond or building one.

I feel so blessed to live so close to the water and this beautiful lake. These long Summer days make great opportunities to grab your swimsuit, a picnic basket, and gather your neighbors and friends to enjoy the cool & refreshing local swimming hole. We had a blast on Saturday out at Lake Norris!

The mountain is a great archetype. The mountain represents strength, security, comfort and intensity.
The mountain has rough, steep terrain that takes skill to traverse. Its sheer mass and size can also protect us from the wind. Your personal property is anything that is not attached to real property and is not intended to stay with the real estate if you sell it.

When you plan your estate, you make a legal and lawful plan for your heirs to carry out when you pass away. The main components of estate planning include:

1. Will. For many people, the will may be the first thing you think about when putting together an estate plan. This document lays out your desires for who will take what assets after your passing. It should also state desires for who will take care of any young children or pets you have in your care.

Tanasi is the namesake for Tennessee. In Cherokee, it has been said to mean "meeting place, winding river" or "river of the great bend."

This is a picture I took from our home one morning as the sun was rising and the fog was resting in the valley.

I named our company Tanasi Homes primarily because we live, work and play on the land we call Tennessee. Tennessee's roots can be found in the word Tanasi, and we are learning to return to our roots. We can learn many things by studying the Cherokee nation, such as how to live off the land, grow our own food, make tools, and use natural materials and medicines in many ways.

As an idea, Tanasi Homes, invokes the thoughts and feelings of home life across a broad spectrum. Everyone loves breathtaking views, fresh air, peaceful scenery, trees, flowers, foxes and ferns.
