Grundy Bank received our bank charter on September 16th, 1864 which we were also known at that time as "Grundy County National Bank". Our first drive through was opened in 1967 at Main & Franklin streets in downtown Morris. Grundy Bank then expanded to open our Jewel branch in February 1997 and our Wilmington branch in November 1999. Grundy Bank became a state bank on June 28, 2002 when our name c

hanged to “Grundy Bank”. We are currently the 4th oldest bank in Illinois with Kevin Olson as the President/CEO. Locations & Hours of Operation:

Join us Friday, July 17, from 1–3 PM in the Grundy Bank Courtyard (201 Liberty Street in Downtown Morris—the alleyway next to Letty Mae’s) for a summer favorite in the community!

We’ll be serving up build-your-own sundaes (with your choice of vanilla or chocolate ice cream) plus unlimited toppings! 🍪🍫🍒

You can also choose to enjoy a root beer float, and yes, you’ll get one of our color-changing souvenir cups (while supplies last)!

We are saddened to share the passing of Bob "Boomer" Harrington.

A dedicated member of the Grundy Bank family for decades, Bob began his career as a teller and retired as one of the bank’s Vice Presidents. Throughout his years of service, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues, customers, and the community through his hard work and leadership.

He will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments, but also for the relationships he built and the positive impact he made on those around him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s family and friends as they mourn his loss and celebrate his life.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Judy Buttry. Judy was a beloved member of the Grundy Bank family, dedicating more than 60 years of service to the bank and the community she cared so deeply about.

Judy was a favorite among customers, many of whom would gladly wait just for the opportunity to visit with her. Her smile, kindness, and words of encouragement brightened the days of everyone she met. Always on the go, she brought joy wherever she went and left a lasting impression on countless lives.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Judy. 🤍

💛🎤 Thank you for an incredible afternoon!

Grundy Bank’s First Annual Lip Sync Battle for Charity wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our wonderful community. Together, we raised $1,927.53 in just one hour to support six amazing local nonprofit organizations serving Grundy County.

The Grundy Bank Caring Committee also donated an additional $250 to both winners, bringing the total to $2,427.53.

All of the teams did a FANTASTIC job, and we want to extend a huge congratulations to our winners!
