Just a public service announcement. There have been many calls to seniors on Medicare telling them that they are missing out on $3,000 a year in grocery benefits. They will call the senior telling them that they have an application with missing information. They will direct the Senior to call a different number.
This is an unethical and illegal practice. No Medicare carrier or agent is allowed to call or text a Senior regarding Medicare Advantage plans without their express permission to contact.
As for the Medicare plans that offer food benefits. These plans are available for a few seniors that qualify and have chronic, special needs and or are Dual eligible (Medicare and Medi-Cal Beneficiaries).
