The City of Moose Lake would like to extend our sincere thanks to our local legislators for their advocacy and support in helping pass the bonding bill that includes $1.575 million for Moose Lake’s Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Project.

This critical investment will help improve our wastewater infrastructure, reduce excess stormwater entering the system, and support long-term reliability.

“Let us rejoice and be glad that we have a bonding bill in front of us,” Rep. Mary Franson (R-Alexandria) said when the House Capital Investment Committee met Sunday.

Attention Tree Lovers and Advocates!

The Moose Lake Tree Committee is looking for two additional members for our newly formed tree committee.

A Town Tree Board or Committee is a citizen-led group, that works with municipal public officials to improve the health of the urban and community forest through tree plantings, advocacy, education, management and maintenance activities.

Why Have a Tree Board?
🌳 Advocate – for public tree and forest management and support urban and community forestry.

🌳Get Work Done – help with a tree inventory, an education campaign, a planting program or tree ordinance.

🌳Bring in Additional Resources – help apply for grants, solicit private donations, organize fundraisers, and advocate for larger budgets.

🌳Reduce Conflicts – help reduce potential conflicts by providing a forum for reviewing complaints, addressing safety issues, and making recommendations to the town.

🌳Help Raise Public Awareness – educate residents about the importance of trees and urban forestry and raise public awareness of the needs of trees and forests.

🌳Improve your Urban and Community Forest – all these activities result in an improved urban and community forest for your city or town.

This group will meet monthly or as needed. Please express interest by emailing [email protected] and detail your experience and interest in being a part of this group! Interest letters will be accepted until May 1st.
