George Washington Carver was the peanut man. From his work at Tuskegee, Carver developed approximately 300 products made from peanuts; these included: flour, paste, insulation, paper, wall board, wood stains, soap, shaving cream and skin lotion. He experimented with medicines made from peanuts, which included antiseptics, laxatives and a treatment for goiter.

President Shawn Harding of the North Carolina Farm Bureau announced today that the North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors has approved a 20% dividend on automobile premiums for the months of April and May 2020.

The dividends will be paid in mid-June by checks mailed directly to policyholders.

They will cover two months of voluntary premiums in April and May on both Personal Automobile and Business Automobile policies.

The dividends reflect the savings rightfully due Farm Bureau insureds as a result of stay-at-home guidelines now in place in North Carolina, and will total approximately $22,000,000 in savings for policyholders.
