I've spent 19 years in mortgage banking (after a first career in marketing and merchandising) and funded over $500 million in loans along the way. What I've learned is that the deals that fall apart are usually the ones nobody wanted to take on, the tricky loans, the special income situations, the files other lenders pass on.
