Montrose Economic Development Corporation worked with Amazon by selling the property adjacent to Montrose Regional Airport to them. Facility construction was announced in 2024.

“Our call was to Sandy, who happened to have the perfect piece of property. Us buying this property really aligned with their strategy; it aligned with our strategy; proximity to the airport as well, being industrial. This is a great highlight of EDCs’ (economic development companies’) investing themselves in their community. Primary employers show up; we spend a bunch of money,” Bailey said.

To build its 12,000 square-foot facility on nearly 8 acres at 496 County Road, Amazon spent $25 million. The online retail titan employs 50 full- and part-time workers in Montrose, as well as more than 75 “flex drivers” (delivery).
